Our group went outside to tape off the dimensions that we would be working with in our space. The Kiosk will be 10x10x12. This process was extremely helpful in visualizing the available space and how many people could be within the space at one time.

Display Completed!

Putting my final display together was a challenge. I had to reconstruct the top portion. I added triangle pieces to each side of the sign to give the same and stability needed. I also made the bottom of the sign larger which took a few of the product holes. I added plastic tubing to reinforce the holes that the samples it in. I then repainted the base with 2 more coats of black. I really struggled with getting the graphics on vellum. I tried several printers and stores. In the end, I printed the graphics on separate clear sticker pages and pieced them together on a piece of vellum. I was happy with this effect of the front but it had a few noticeable flaws on the back side. To cover us seams, I covered the sides with white wrapping paper that I purchased at The Paper Source. I trimmed the bottom with a black satin ribbon to get the glossy look of the base. All in all, I am very happy with the final result. Given more time, there are things that I would change and tweak but I feel that I created a realistic and functioning display. On to the next challenge....

The light at the end...

This week I have been refining my display. I have been working at full scale. I have tried several mediums to get the desired result. I tried using modeling clay to cover my floral foam but that was unsuccessful. I also tried paper, unsuccessful. These are the pictures of the model I submitted this week for pin-up. I received helpful suggestions to make this more effective.

Model - Part III
I am getting closer to my ideal form. I am trying to construct a black base that is larger at the top and smaller at the bottom. The first to pictures show a 4 - 10" circles glued together that I am going to carve into this shape. I am planning on moving to a full scale model next.
Model - Part II

I am working with a circular form to mirror the form of my product. I tried using this plastic mesh but it is very difficult to work with and I will not be using it in my final model because it will not hold a shape. I used modeling clay to create a miniature and full scale model of the product. I didn't not worry about perfecting these models because I am just using them for the model making process. I have created a mold of the product that I will cast models with plaster of paris. I am hoping these models will be a part of my final display. I like the look of the trace paper for the top model. My vision would be to illuminate both sections and have black graphics on them.
